The Objective

Life Time Fitness was looking to develop an incentive program that would boost member enrollment, and incent existing members to refer others to join.

The Solution

Life Time Fitness offered Restaurant.com Gift Certificates as an incentive. During six open-house weekends over a 3-month period, gift certificates were offered as a free gift with enrollment. Any new member joining Life Time Fitness received a FREE $50 Restaurant.com Electronic Gift Certificate sent via email.

As an additional incentive to increase the number of referrals, any existing members who referred prospects that ultimately joined the club also received a $50 electronic gift certificate.

This incentive program used the call-to-action “…Join Life Time Fitness today and receive this free $50 Restaurant.com Gift Certificate…”. Each new member received electronic gift certificates via email.

The Results

Restaurant.com Gift Certificates were very well received. In fact, the promotion helped Life Time Fitness to effectively increase membership sales and member referrals. The program also provided a substantial increase in Life Time’s email database.

A co-branded redemption site, was developed to further promote the Life Time Fitness brand.
